Caribbean Vacations

Surrender to the Magic

Yes, I took this picture and was very excited to see this Sea Turtle in his environment. We follow the "look, but don't touch" guide in our travels when dealing with native species, coral, and wildlife. He looks like someone I know back home!

First the Caribbean, then the world. The weather, the beaches, the cruise experience...we can make it all happen. We're very experienced and we take the worry out of your Caribbean cruise. Call us today 1-325-835-7561.

Caribbean Vacations are a dream harbored by many people worldwide, and rightly so. Consider its warm azure waters and the perfect beaches . . . you, too, would surrender to the magic of the Caribbean. Caribbean vacations that take you cruising down the lazy islands of the Western and Eastern Caribbean are unforgettable experiences.

Carnival lines are a great way to see the Caribbean.

Texas Cruise Company can make that dream come true. We're just a friendly phone call away at 1-877-825-9812. We've taken the cruises ourselves and can guide you every step of the way. We take the worries out of cruising.

The popular Western islands, such as Grand Cayman, Cozumel, Jamaica, and many more, with fabulous places to sightsee, swim, sun, dive and explore, are places of uncommon beauty. There is something unique, unexplainable and delightful about every one of the fabulous Caribbean islands.

We recently returned from a week long Caribbean cruise aboard the Carnival Conquest and it was a great cruise vacation. We drove to Galveston and went onboard the Carnival Conquest Sunday afternoon around 1:00 p.m. We had lunch onboard and explored the ship while our baggage was being delivered and our rooms were being cleaned and readied. We were amazed by how large the Carnival Conquest really is. It is one of the largest ships in Carnival's fleet and it showed! We walked the "Lido" deck (9) where the pools and lounging areas are and it seemed to go on forever complete with water slide, plenty of bars, and lounging areas.

We can answer your questions about sailing in the Caribbean and especially sailing out of Galveston. We have been on the ships and know them and we're happy to talk to you about your shopping excursions, dining, special needs, golf courses, weather, and more. You can call us in confidence and of course, there is never any "pressure". We just enjoy talking about cruising, our favorite mode of vacation travel.

We sailed out right on time and spent two days at sea headed first to Jamaica. Onboard we enjoyed fine dining, the casino, bingo, reading and "just hanging out." In Jamaica, we opted for a visit to the white sand beaches at Negril and we were not disapointed. We made Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville our headquarters. Ramona had her hair braided by a local and I went straight for the sand and sea and swam in the cool Caribbean. The weather was perfect and it was about 90 degrees. While some areas of Jamaica may not be suitable for tourists, we felt safe and secure and there was security present at all times where we were. Yes, we were approached by locals selling 'everything' but a polite and firm "not interested" and they were on their way. In the Negril area where we were, there was plenty to do including parasailing, jet ski, fishing, scuba diving, and just lounging on the beautiful white sand beach.

The next visit to Jamaica will surely include a round of golf at The White Witch Golf Club. With its dramatic elevation changes, hairpin turns, swirling mountain winds, and panoramic views of the Caribbean (16 of 18 holes have sea views), the Robert Von Hagge-designed Witch is a delight.

Course features:

* The White Witch offers five sets of tees on every hole so it can appeal to all levels of golfers, therefore, pick the tees that suit your game!

* Aside from the golf, the Witch's "concierge" program helps to make the course both more playable and enjoyable. Concierges are essentially caddies who accompany cart-riding players to cite distance - to the yard - read putts, clean clubs, and run up and down fairways in search of hooks, shanks, and slices. * The service of the caddies and the rest of the course staff are nothing less than what would be expected from Ritz-Carlton.

Caddy fees are approximately $17.00 per cart. Par 71, 6,820 Yards.

All that being said, no, Jamaica is not our favorite port, at least for the current future. The roads are narrow and recent robberies of tourists there have put a lot of pressure on local authorities to clean up their act. Jamaica has a lot to do to become a great Caribbean destination and we are sure they are working on it.

Grand Cayman

In Grand Cayman, it was another trip to a Caribbean paradise. The beaches were beautiful and the water clean and clear. The white sand beaches of Grand Cayman are like powder. Great for walking barefoot. We always felt safe and secure in Grand Cayman...never a problem at all.

The primary business of Grand Cayman of course is offshore banking. There are over 500 banks located on Grand Cayman. There are also a great many shopping excursions and the shopping is first rate. Silver and gold jewelry is very popular along with fine watches of nearly every major brand including Rolex. The sales lady I talked with referred to the Rolex watch I was pricing as a "Texas Timex". (No, I didn't purchase, still looking).

When you call to talk about a cruise to the fabulous Caribbean, you can also plan your shore excursions. When on a cruise it is time to try different things, experience new adventures. One of these is a trip to Stingray City in Grand Cayman. The translucent waters of Grand Cayman are ideal for this adventure. You are with a group in 3' to 5' deep water and the tame stingrays come up and literally eat out of your hand. This is something you will go home and tell all your friends about. Give it a try and then next time, try parasailing! Take life by the hand and experience all you can...with Texas Cruise Company you won't go wrong.

The final stop the Carnival Conquest made was at Cozumel. Cozumel is famous for its shopping district and it has redone its assembly area. It is all very modern now. We did find Pancho's Back Door restaurant where we had dined at on a previous visit and enjoyed it very much. The margaritas were tasty and the water safe. Palmeras is another popular restaurant and there are many more close by and convenient. The cruise director aboard the Carnival Conquest is very knowledgeable about shopping in all ports, especially Cozumel and he gives a great discussion of shopping on the ship's TV and in a live shopping discussion in the ship's main lounge. Senor Frog's and Carlos and Charlie's is right across the street from the cruise terminal for the partying younger crowd.

We enjoyed the Carnival Conquest very much. It is a fabulous ship and in my humble opinion, it rivals any ship on the market. The service was great, the decor was superb, the fine dining could not have been better, (especially the lobster night), and the casino is fun.

Our Maitre' de looked like Jessie Ventura, sounded like the Terminator, and sang like Frank Sinatra. He was fantastic. All in all, a great ship sailing a very good itinerary. You will not be disapointed in the Carnival Conquest! Contact us for more information. We would love to hear from you!

Yes, we can arrange golf in the Caribbean aboard most ships including Carnival. We've played on many of the courses in the Caribbean including Cozumel Country Club. Carnival has a great golf program. Cruises Out of Texas

  • 4-day and 5-day Western Caribbean Cruises – Offered by the Carnival Ecstasy, you cruise from Thursday to Monday to Calica and back on the shorter 4 day cruise. In Calica you can explore ancient ruins, shop in open air markets, and snorkel in breathtakingly clear waters.

On the 5 day cruise, which sails on either Mondays or Saturdays you will visit Progresso, Yucatan and you will also port at Cozumel. These cruises are great for incentive travel and small groups for folks who do not have a lot of time to spend on a longer cruise.

  • You can book the Carnival Ecstasy with confidence It has recently undergone a multi-million dollar renovation. All of the 1,026 staterooms including the 54 suits were completely refurbished. The Carnival Ecstasy has a completely renovated Spa Carnival. There is a new 9 hole miniature golf course, gift shop redesign, new conference room, and it all looks very classy!

In Cozumel, When you are ready for a break from the sun and surf, stroll through the shops in town. Great buys can be found on Mexican items. Walking the streets and shopping centers are a delightful experience. From a custom made t-shirt to one–of-a-kind silver jewelry collection...shops and boutiques have the best selection and value on the Island.

....but back to shopping. You will also find a number of shops specializing in resort wear. And you'll see a wide array of imported items, including duty-free perfumes and cosmetics, china and crystal, watches and cameras.

If you shop carefully, you will find that prices on jewelry fashioned with Mexican silver and turquoise are exceptionally good. When buying sterling silver, always make sure you see "925" stamped on the item. Gold items, should be stamped with a set of two numbers and two letters (in any combination). Your cruise guide aboard ship will have a special presentation on shopping in Cozumel.

Although the streets will be crowded with shoppers, there are plenty of other things to do in Cozumel for those looking for more adventure. That includes golf at Cozumel Country Club, one of my favorite excursions. Contact us for more information.

      Eastern Caribbean

In January 2007 we sailed aboard the MSC Opera, an Italian based luxury cruise ship. This cruise gave us valuable experience in another part of the Caribbean known as the West Indies.

We sailed from Fort Lauderdale, Florida and were at sea for two days to San Juan, Puerto Rico. From there we sailed to St. Marteen, Grenada, Barbados, St. Lucia, Tortola, and Cayo Levantado/Samana.

The Shore Excursions were interesting and diverse and we looked forward to seeing everything from the El Yunque Rainforest in Puerto Rico to sailing aboard the St. Marteen's America's Cup ship as part of the crew where we "competed" on a shortened course.

In Grenada we spent some time in a clear bottom Kayak just to see what is underwater. We also toured the countryside and stopped at herb and botannical gardens.

In Barbados we snorkeled in Turtle Bay wih Sea Turtles. We also did this in Hawaii and it was a great experience. We also played golf for half a day at the original Barbados Golf and Country Club. It has been enhanced and is now host to a PGA Senior Tour event.

In Tortola, we "swam with the Dolphins" in the Dolphin Adventure excursion. Seeing and swimming with real Dolphins will be a memory to last forever.

Cayo Levantado is MSC's private island and while there we went Whale Watching. Humpback whales flock there and yes, we saw plenty of them up close. A great experience. The water was cool and clear and the natives friendly.

We love all parts of the Caribbean and can advise you on any cruise trip there. Just give us a call and we'll get you going in the right direction. Toll free 1-325-835-7561.

Caribbean cruises are popular because activities and amenities are easily enjoyed onboard a luxurious resort on water, which also makes stops at more than one destination.

The Caribbean is a popular spot to cruise to, however, travelers should plan their trip according to where ships will be able to travel. On the Western side, cruises stop in ports at Key West, Grand Cayman, Costa Maya, Cozumel, Belize City, and Playa del Carmen and a few more. If you've got your heart set on Cancún, you may want to look at another way of getting there, though some cruises sail into nearby ports.

There are plenty of itineraries and cruise styles for passengers to try out. One of the best ways to go about booking a cruise is to decide what kind of vacation you'd like to experience, and choose a line accordingly. For example, families with younger children might find the Disney line is right up their alley, while Princess, the official line of the "Love Boat" TV show, can offer couples a romantic getaway. We also love Carnival and MSC Cruise lines.

Once you've chosen a cruise line, the easiest way to book a trip is to simply pick up the phone and call Texas Cruise Company at 1-325-835-7560.

In any case, you'll want to book early. Cruises, especially during the winter, can be filled months ahead of time, and the Caribbean is a popular spot for cruise vacationers.

Contact us for more information. We'll get back to you quickly and we are gaining a great reputation for our customer service. Lots of repeat customers mean we're doing something right!

Don't let life pass you by! Put a Caribbean cruise vacation trip on your "life" list of things you simply must do. Call Texas Cruise Company to book your next trip or fill out the request form. We're very prompt. We'll get right back to you with our suggestions to make your Caribbean cruise vacation come true with no worries.
