Houston Attractions 2

"Houston, Texas Cruise Company is ready."

Our mantra: caribbean vacations, cruises, carnival lines, carnival conquest

Think of Houston attractions and the first thing that comes to mind is the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), the place that accomplished and broadcast man's first step on the moon; "Houston, the Eagle has landed."

Houston has turned itself into the fourth largest city in the United States. It's a "can do" city. From the Space center, to its many museums, to its parks and the Houston Zoo, there are many permanent Houston attractions to sweep you off your feet. With the coming of diverse ethnic groups, Houston has become increasingly cosmopolitan.

"Don't Miss"

Whether you are first timer to Houston or you have visited many times, there are certain "don't miss" Houston attractions:

  • Space Center Houston – This is Houston's top attraction and a

"must see". The unparalleled exhibits, attractions and special presentations tell the story of NASA's manned space flight program. This is where you can watch astronauts train for missions, land a shuttle, touch a real moon rock and take a tour of NASA. You can take a guided tram tour of NASA's Johnson Space Center and visit the Historic Mission Control Center, Hangar X, the Space Vehicle Mockup Facility and Rocket Park, the home of rockets used in the earliest days of the space program.
  • Houston Museum of Natural Science – It has an incredible collection of mineral specimens, a dinosaur skeleton, space-station models, a planetarium and a six-story butterfly center. It has permanent exhibits on paleontology, gems and minerals, Texas wildlife, African wildlife, The Americas, chemistry, space science and Egypt, among others.
  • Museum of Fine Arts – It is the first municipal art museum in Texas, and displays Impressionist and Post-Impressionist art, including Baroque and Renaissance art, African tribal art and a sculpture garden. Dating from antiquity to the present, the museum has more

    than 51,000 works of art
. With 300,000 square feet of exhibition space, you need ample time to see items of your interest.
  • Hermann Park - It provides wooded picnic sites, running trails, on-leash dog walking areas, the Houston Zoological Gardens, a public golf course and an outdoor theater featuring plays and live music. Here is what visitors can do, among other things:

Have a picnic and enjoy nature
See a free show at Miller Outdoor Theatre
Ride a bike along Houston's longest bike trails
Identify some of the 202 species of birds

Can you catch a cruise out of Houston?....not right now! There are cruises out of Houston on select dates. Unfortunately, NCL does not have any cruises planned in the near future, but it's only a very short drive over to Galveston to catch your next great cruise
