Royal Caribbean
Cruise Lines

Royal Caribbean's Voyager is one of our favorites!
Voyager of the Seas is a favorite among the cruising crowd. Cruisers will get a real treat by booking this great ship. It took its maiden voyage November 1999 and has a capacity of 3,114 passengers. Katarina Witt is the ship's Godmother. Voyager's gross tonnage is a hefty 138.000 and it's over 1020 feet long with a 29' draft. However, it can move along a a nifty 23.7 knot cruising speed.

“Voyager of the Seas” will operate seven-night roundtrip sailings out of Galveston through April with three routes: Cozumel/Costa Maya/Yucatan; Roatan/Montego Bay; and George Town/Grand Cayman.

Following a hit by Hurricane Dean in August 2007, the Port of Costa Maya is announcing the reconstruction of berthing spaces one and two is now 58% completed. This means both positions will be ready to receive cruise ships by this summer, 2008. This is about three months earlier than expected. The third position is also under reconstruction but will be finished soon after. There will not be tendering before the reopening as the port owners are focusing their efforts on the Port's reconstruction and speedy recovery.Negotiations with the cruise lines are successfully underway. Many cruise lines will be returning to Costa Maya. Final details on the new schedule of calls to the Port are expected by the beginning of February. The rehabilitation of the Port and the beachside town that surrounds it, Mahahual, is set to offer an enhanced experience to its guests and cruise industry partners. The rebuilt Costa Maya will again become the Land of Adventure that became so popular with cruise passengers stepping ashore at this distinctive piece of Mexican coastline. After all, the Port of Costa Maya quickly became one of the cruise industry’s success stories after it was developed from an untouched piece of land on Mexico's Caribbean coast into a destination that has attracted over two million cruise passengers since its inauguration in 2001. Its success is attributed to its diving and water sports, pristine beaches and natural resources as well as its goal of preserving the area's cultural heritage.
