Texas Cruise Company makes if very easy to plan your shore excursions in Hawaii. use this handy Activity Planner to help show you what all is available.
It was a golfer's trip of a lifetime. Imagine, playing at up to 5 of Hawaii's best courses. I took advantage of the onboard club rental program and had my clubs and bag sent to the course and brought back by the cruise line. It's just a little something extra we know how to do. After a great round of golf, I returned to the floating clubhouse where Ramona and I visited the 19th hole and she had a massage. Then a fabulous meal and super Vegas style entertainment. It was a great trip and we can show you how to do it right.

Cruising is a great way to see the world and shore excursions are enriching experiences while on your trip. Texas Cruise Company can help you with your shore excursions whether you take them from cruise ship sponsored providers or from private shore excursion providers. We have done both and have enjoyed both ways of getting the most out of our cruise experience. The main thing you have to be careful of is "know who you are dealing with." We don't use the so called 'fly-by-night' shore excursion operators who often are located where cruise passengers disembark the ship. The main problems we see with them is "will they get you back to the ship on time?"
Going on an exciting shore excursion recommended by the cruise ship is always a good way to go. That being said, we also recommend some private providers that have proven track records.
While many shore excursions are done after the ship is docked in port, in some cases, you have to take a tender, or smaller ship to shore. We enjoy these ship-to-shore-and back "mini-cruises" also and they give you an idea as to just how big the cruise ship actually is. They take you right back to the ship where you get off on a gangway and often just get on an elevator once inside to go to your rooms. Very safe and convenient. I had the waterproof/underwater camera and took this photo of Ramona in the water...this was a great shore excusions for us.
While on the Norwegian Pride of Aloha, we took one day off from golf to do a ship sponsored shore excusion. This particular Shore excursion was called "Secrets of Puna" and it is an NCL exclusive. The trip tells the story of the town of Puna which was completetly wiped off the map by flowing lava from the volcano. We walked on the cooled lava and went from the road to a section of a black sand beach. The lava flow completely covered the townsite and filled in a bay. It was amazing how much lava flowed in a relatively short period of time. All cruise lines have excursions available and they are always very helpful. And, Yes, or course you can call us and let us arrange your great memory making shore excusions!
At another location, we went snorkeling in a volcanically heated lagoon. It was a first for us and the entire excusion was GREAT.
We have 'shopped 'till we dropped' in Cozumel and have seen the sights in Key West. Do some of your research here, especially on Hawaiian Activities, and plan your own great shore excursions. We have arranged train trips through the Denali Forest in Alaska, zipline travels over the jungle canopy in Costa Rica, and dogsled mushing out in the Alaskan wilderness. We highly recommend expanding your experiences with shore excusions. They are what make great memories!
While snorkeling at Hanamani Cove not far from Waikiki Beach, we also had a chance encounter with a Sea Turtle in his native environment. He was busy eating and really didn't pay much attention to us, but we were excited to get his picture and share a swim with him for a while!
